Where Should You Park for the Bayou Music Center?
Bayou Music Center doesn't have its own parking lot. The Live Nation venue is inside Bayou Place at 500 Texas Avenue in Houston's Theater District. Its visitor page lists three options: city-run valet, free street parking after 6 p.m., and paid underground parking in the City of Houston's Theater District garages. The venue opened in 1997 as the Aerial Theater and was later known as Verizon Wireless Theater and Revention Music Center.

The underground garages are the closest parking option. If you want a $10 daily max, space for a taller vehicle, or time to explore downtown before the show, our garage near Bayou Music Center is worth the short walk.

How Do You Get from 1112 Clay Garage to Bayou Music Center?
Walk it in about 18 minutes, or ride the METRORail Red Line most of the way. Both routes run along Main Street.
Walking route (about 0.9 mile)
Exit the garage onto Clay Street and head west to Main Street. Turn right and walk north along the rail tracks, past Main Street Square, to Texas Avenue. Turn left and continue west for four blocks, past Travis, Milam and Louisiana streets. Bayou Music Center is inside Bayou Place, between Smith and Bagby streets.
Taking the METRORail Red Line
Bell station sits on Main Street at Bell Street, a short walk from our Bell Street entrance. Ride north to Preston station, then walk about four blocks west to Bayou Place. A regular fare is $1.25 with free three-hour transfers, and you pay by tapping a card or phone. Check METRO's schedule before a late show so you know when the last train leaves.

Yes, after 6 p.m., if you find an open space. Bayou Music Center's visitor page says street parking is free after 6 p.m., and City of Houston meters downtown run Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Always go by the posted signs.

Free doesn't always mean easy, though. When the Wortham Theater Center, the Hobby Center and AMC Houston 8 have shows on the same night, the curb spaces near Texas Avenue go first. A street spot is also uncovered, comes with a posted time limit, and has nobody on site if something goes wrong.

Skip the circling and reserve a covered spot at 1112 Clay Garage, where standard parking caps at $10 for 24 hours and trained staff are on site, and know where you're parking before you leave home.
